Alisdair Kitchen is a multidisciplinary director and musician.
He holds first class Bachelor and Masters degrees in piano performance from the Royal College of Music in London, and later studied conducting with Sir Colin Davis and David Syrus.
He began directing in 2014 under the mentorship of Sir Jonathan Miller and his work has spanned opera, plays, musical theatre, and screen work.
Euphonia has existed in one form or another since 2010, growing out of performance projects at the Courtauld Gallery in London. Its current form - Euphonia Studio - primarily represents Alisdair's creative practice as a director of live performance, and this website documents selected productions from 2015 to the present.
Euphonia Studio has developed close ties with the Rye Arts Festival in East Sussex, producing work there since 2011. Other residencies have included The Cockpit and Drayton Arms theatres in London.
Alisdair is on the music staff in the Vocal and Opera department of the Royal College of Music. He was previously an Associate Director at the Drayton Arms Theatre in London.
Euphonia Studio founding associates include Prof. Robert Winston and Dr Charlotte De Mille.
